New League Team Format

We want to introduce an exciting addition to this season’s league format.

First and most importantly: our regular singles league format is NOT changing.
You will still compete each week as an individual. Scores, payouts, ratings, and standings all function exactly as they always have.
What we are adding is a team competition layered on top of the normal singles format.

Here’s how it works:

1. Four League Teams

We will have four teams - Names to follow.

Each team will include players from each division, auto assigned through a snake draft based on last year’s results and after WEEK 6 of this Season. This allows for new players to be balanced properly.

2. Weekly Play

Every week, you still play your normal singles round.

Your individual score counts toward:

  • Your individual standings

  • Your division standings

  • Your team’s cumulative season points

Nothing about the weekly experience changes — we’re simply adding team scoring on top.

3. Championship Qualification

At the end of the regular season:

  • The top 2 players in each division on each team qualify for the CCDG Cup.

  • That equals 10 qualifiers per team.

  • 40 total players advance to the Cup Championship.

This structure ensures:

  • Every division matters equally.

  • Lower divisions directly impact team success.

  • Teams are balanced and competitive.

  • The season stays meaningful for everyone.

The goal of this addition is simple:
Build more community, create team identity, and add another competitive layer — without changing what already works.
